Managing Arborist
Peters – Todd’s Inc. is seeking a detail oriented seasoned professional for our Far Hills, NJ office to become a part of a creative and collaborative team as our firm continues to manage and grow our clientele.
Peters – Todd’s is a family-owned tree care company which has served northern and central NJ since 1922. Our projects range from modest residential properties to large estates and commercial campuses to state parks and institutions.
The objective of this position is to build annual general tree care and plant health care services with existing and new clients. Manage productivity and quality of services within the divisions while adhering to industry best practices and act as single service representative for the firm.
Must be a highly organized, success driven individual able to work with multiple management staff and field personnel.
Responsibilities:
Develop monthly sales objective plan for revenue enhancements
Build continuous relationships of Corp. and Res. Clients
Identify service opportunities to increase revenue
Report weekly to Business/Sales Manager on opportunities.
Sell and schedule all seasonal sprays and fertilization
Act as liaison between clients and production
Oversee field execution to make sure Best Practices and documentation is being followed
Qualifications:
Ability to work as a team member maintaining positive work relations with staff
Thorough knowledge of related horticultural equipment, materials, and techniques
Working knowledge of the role of plants, gardens, and lawns
Ability to work directly with field personal to provide guidance and training.
Some proficiency in Spanish is desired
Ability to perform administrative functions such as estimating, scheduling, and planning
Maintain proper records of assigned pruning schedules and fertilization applications
Background in tree and ornamental plant health care and pruning is preferred.
Background in grounds/turf care is helpful, including chemical applications.
Pesticide applicators license a plus
Working experience with sales techniques and technology
Education Requirements:
A two or four-year degree in horticulture is preferred. Other combinations of training and/or experience that can be demonstrated to result in possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the assigned duties will also be considered.
Being licensed Certified Arborist and NJ Licensed Tree Expert
