Michael Todd, General Manager & Owner
Michael officially joined The Todd Group in 2003, but grew up absorbing and emulating the philosophies and practices embraced by his father, who founded the company in 1975. Michael started his career with The Todd Group as a buyer and has also managed the maintenance and production teams. Today, as general manager, Michael oversees all aspects of The Todd Group’s and Peters Todd’s Tree Service’s operations. On a visceral level, he strives to cultivate a company culture that embraces passion and creativity, something that makes The Todd Group unique amongst its competition. Client trust, commitment to people and communities, and an unwavering dedication to timeless quality and beauty are part of the fiber of the organization—and the fundamental essence of Michael’s leadership role.

What are you passionate about?
Life in general. I love seeing people succeed and making people smile. I feed off others’ energy. I absolutely love human interaction.
The vision behind the job
I believe strongly that we enhance the experiences of people’s lives—both those who work here and our clients. My job is to ensure that there is synergy between our company’s vision and each employee’s vision. Working here, you’re surrounded by love—for our industry, for nature, for the outdoors, for what we do. We create beauty, and the result is that our clients love coming home.
What’s your management philosophy?
I like to surround myself with creative, passionate people who are strong in the areas where I’m weak. The most rewarding part of my job is shining the spotlight brightly on my employees for the great work that they do and the beauty they design.

Little-known facts
After college, I worked for Johnson & Johnson as an efficiency consultant, but it didn’t take long to realize I wanted to be the creator of my world. I have two teacup Chihuahuas. In third grade, I regularly wore a three-piece suit to school. I love my mama!

What’s your favorite part of working with clients?
Making them happy! When it comes to our longtime clients, I enjoy seeing a property evolve through the years and I truly appreciate that clients invest in us and trust us. I love capturing their vision and bringing it to life.
